
The maintenance of plate and back up roll is divided into daily, regular and special case processing. Daily includes surface cleaning, checking the lubrication system and monitoring the operating status; regular includes disassembly inspection, precision testing and adjustment, surface treatment; special cases cover emergency shutdown and long-term shutdown maintenance, and at the same time, operator training should be strengthened.
Daily maintenance
- Surface cleaning: During the production process, impurities such as metal chips, oil stains, and dust will adhere to the surface of the strip rollers, which will affect the surface quality of the strips and may even cause increased wear on the surface of the strip rollers. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly use special cleaning agents and tools, such as brushes and rags, to clean the surface of the strip rollers to ensure that the surface is clean and free of impurities.
- Check the lubrication system: Good lubrication is the key to the normal operation of the plate and strip rollers. Regularly check the oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure and other parameters of the lubrication system to ensure that the lubricating oil is sufficient and the oil quality is good. At the same time, check whether the oil pipe has leakage, blockage and other problems. If there is any problem, repair or replace it in time.
- Monitor the running status: During the operation of the strip roller, pay close attention to its running sound, vibration and temperature changes. Abnormal sound, vibration or temperature increase may mean that there is a fault in the strip roller, such as bearing damage, uneven roller surface wear, etc., and it is necessary to stop the machine in time to check and eliminate the fault.
Regular maintenance
- Disassembly inspection: According to the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and operating procedures, the strip rollers should be disassembled and inspected regularly. Check whether the roller body has cracks, wear, deformation and other defects, especially the wear of the roller surface. For severely worn parts, the strip rollers should be repaired or replaced. At the same time, check the wear of bearings, seals and other parts, and replace them in time if damaged.
- Precision detection and adjustment: The precision of the strip roller directly affects the production quality of the strip. Regularly use professional measuring tools, such as calipers and dial indicators, to measure the diameter, cylindricity, straightness and other parameters of the strip roller. If the precision is found to be beyond the allowable range, timely adjustment or repair should be made.
- Surface treatment: After a period of use, the surface of the strip roller may be oxidized, corroded, and other problems may occur, affecting its performance. According to the material and use requirements of the strip roller, its surface can be regularly treated, such as chrome plating, nickel plating, etc., to improve the surface hardness and finish and enhance corrosion resistance.
Special situation handling
- Emergency shutdown treatment: When the strip roller has a sudden failure, such as severe vibration, abnormal noise, smoke, etc., the machine should be shut down immediately. After the shutdown, the strip roller and related equipment should be fully inspected to find out the cause of the failure and repair it. Before finding out the cause of the failure, the machine should not be started blindly to avoid causing more serious damage.
- Long-term shutdown maintenance: If the plate and belt roller needs to be shut down for a long time, special maintenance measures should be taken. First, the plate and belt roller should be thoroughly cleaned and rust-proofed. Anti-rust oil should be applied to the surface of the roller body and it should be wrapped with plastic film or oil paper to prevent rust. At the same time, the plate and belt roller should be rotated once every period of time to prevent bearings and other parts from getting stuck due to long-term static.
Operator training
- Improve operating skills: The skill level and operating standard of operators are crucial to the maintenance of plate and strip rollers. Operators should be trained regularly to familiarize themselves with the structure, working principle and operating procedures of the plate and strip rollers, master the correct operating methods and precautions, and avoid damage to the plate and strip rollers due to improper operation.
- Enhance maintenance awareness: Through training and publicity, operators can be more aware of the importance of plate and strip roller maintenance and develop good maintenance habits. Operators are encouraged to find and report problems in their daily work in a timely manner, creating a good atmosphere for all staff to participate in maintenance.
